DIY – Paint your jeans jacket! #art

Yes, that hashtag was ironic. Anyways, hello and welcome to episode 2 (? I think ?) of DIY The Cozy Den. J. found a picture of the back of a jeans jacket on Pinterest and we thought “that would make a good blogpost”. And I really needed a successful DIY after the advent calendar drove me insane. We did quite well, but see for yourself 🙂

What we needed was a jeans jacket each (which we ordered from Pull and Bear), as well as brushes and textile colour. We went to a local craft store and they had so much random stuff, it was amazing! Maybe we went a bit cray-cray on the colours, but they were all so beautiful. Little pro-tipp the shop assistant gave us: wash your jacket before painting it, that way the colours will stay on properly.

After buying everything we needed, we met up and spend a whole day on re-creating the picture from Pinterest. We could’ve easily made something up ourselves, we are not that creative, though 😀 And yes, it took us a whole day (plus one or two days for the colour to dry). It was a lot of fun, but it was also very stressful and we had to concentrate so hard because every single movement of the brush could have destroyed it all 😀 (Edit J.: This is no exaggeration! Before every flower we sat there and think about how to make it work and not destroy everything we’ve painted so far :D) But we are quite satisfied with the result and if you are looking for a fun little DIY project, try creating your own jeans jacket! 🙂

(Edit J.: At the beginning we thought, if there is enough colour and time left, we can paint more flowers on the sleeves and the front pockets of the jacket… We were way too enthusiastic and underestimated the time and the concentration we had to put into this :D)
